Directive 7A: Dealing With the Press (Don’t)

By: Internal Affairs Division

With the launch of this site, Director Frost has authorized limited public exposure of curated Netherwatch documentation. This is intentional and strategic. It is not a change in protocol regarding field discretion.

If your mission activity results in attention from media outlets, civilian investigators, or online speculation, you are not to engage directly. Do not comment, correct, confirm, or entertain theories. Your job is not to clarify. Your job is to contain.

If confronted, refer all inquiries to pre-cleared response templates. You continue to be expected to use the following explanations without prior approval:

  • Gas line rupture

  • Feral animal encounter

  • Localized hallucination event

  • Controlled military exercise

  • Digital hoax

Use whichever option best suits the observed incident. If you are unsure, default to infrastructure failure.

No photographs should be acknowledged. If a video circulates, escalate to Command Node Five for narrative management.

The appearance of truth is not the same as proof. This directive does not expire.
